Meet the Makers

You’ll love having a Rhino in your garden too, it’s the perfect environment for your plants and looks beautiful. It’s also very strong and safe for you and your family. We care about quality.

We design and manufacture the Rhino in our own UK factory.

Louvre Vents & Automatic Roof Ventilation

Included as standard with the Rhino Premium 6x6 greenhouse:

  • 2 Single Roof Vents
  • 2 Side Louvre Vents
  • 2 Automatic Roof Vent Openers
  • Storm Locks

We try to fit our Rhinos with as much roof ventilation as possible. By using a combination of single, double and triple roof vents we're able to maximise use of the available space. This means that the Rhino Premium greenhouses are the most ventilated greenhosues in their class. Oh and better still, each roof vent is controlled by solar-powered automatic vent openers so you'll never have to worry about forgetting to open or close your vents again!

Whenever bad weather is expected, you want your greenhouse to be airtight. Our storm locks, fitted to every Rhino Premium, allow the vents to be secured down in bad weather. Note that it is important to disengage the vents before putting the storm locks into position. This will help avoid any damage being done to the openers.

Take complete control of your ventilation with our high quality Rhino five-blade louvre vents. The louvre vents allow cool air to enter from the side of the greenhouse, circulate up and throughout, before escaping through the roof vents. Our years of experience have taught us that optimal circulation can only be achieve through a combination of roof and side louvre vents.

Adequate ventilation is absolutely crucial to successful growing under glass. There is not another greenhouse on the market that has more ventilation than a Rhino. Better still, it's all included in the price.

We've produced a handy guide explaining why ventilation is so important and how to optimize your greenhouse temperature.

4mm Toughened Glass - strong and safe

Keep yourself and your family safe with Rhino's combination glazing system: Toughened Safety Glass and Rubber Glazing Beads. Perfect for exposed locations and families with young children and pets.

Throughtout the lifetime of a greenhouse, a broken pane or two of glass is inevitable. However, each of our Rhinos are fitted with our Rhino Tuff 4mm thoughened safety glass to help prevent breakages and injury in the event of a breakage. This glass is 33% thicker than most greenhouse glass and is specially designed to shatter into tiny pieces rather than big shards that are far more likely to cause injury. For safety, each pane is also supplied with rounded edges so you don't cut yourself during installation. To help with growing our glass is Grade A to achieve ultimate clarity for maximum light.

Our unique Rhino glazing system locks each pane of glass into place. Using long rubber beads, each pane is held in place along its entire length meaning that the glass cannot be blown or sucked out of the frame and pushing on the glass only locks the beads more tightly into the frame. With Rhino's glazing method, each pane becomes integral to the strength of the frame, ideal for high winds and other extreme weather conditions. The Premium range also features box-section glazing beads for even greater stability.

When compared with the glazing that comes as standard on most greenhouses, the Rhino ranges come up trumps every time. No dangerous horticultural glass or flimsy W-clips here; and with the smooth finish achieved by our glazing beads, there's no need for bar capping either.

Strong Frame - great wind resistance

Strength is at the heart of every Rhino which is why on one crazy day in our factory we decided to sit of the roof of a Rhino to demonstrate its strength. Afterall, if you're going to call your product after the Rhino its got to be strong!

Strength and stability make our greenhouses perfectly adapted for extreme weather and exposed locations. This is why many of our customers choose a Rhino - we love hearing from our customers that their Rhino has withstood storms and strong gales (up to 137mph, so far).

Each Rhino frame has around 60% more aluminum than similarly priced models. But it’s not just the weight, it’s the clever design of the Rhino that provides its inherent strength. There are 3 key factors that contribute the strength of the Rhino range:

  1. Strong T-section bracing
  2. An integral base
  3. The Rhino Tuff glazing system

The Rhino Premium features even stronger T-section bracing; positioned at every strut of the framework of the eaves and ridge of the the greenhouse, you can be confident in the security of the structure. The integral base and Rhino Tuff glazing system also add to the overall strength, creating a solid and airtight framework from the top of the roof to the ground.

Oh and just to make sure it can withstand whatever the weather may throw at it, we’ve tested the snow loading capacity of a Rhino by putting half a tonne of sand bags on the roof.

Integral Base – stronger and great access

Not all greenhouses are sold equal, this is why every Rhino greenhouse includes a strong aluminum base in the price, which not only provides an incredibly strong foundation but also allows The Rhino to be erected simply onto firm, level soil – so there’s no need for an expensive concrete base. Once The Rhino is erected, strong stainless steel ground anchors are concreted into position.

Soil isn't the only surface a The Rhino can be erected on, a hardstanding of concrete or paving slabs can also be used. If this is the case, the stainless steel anchors are fixed using the fixings provided.

All Rhino greenhouses now include a low threshold door and ramp within the price. There’s no longer a trip hazard at the doorway and on 8, 10 and 12ft wide models there is plenty of width for a wheelchair or a well stocked wheelbarrow to enter with ease.

Hanging Basket Rails

Every Rhino greenhouse comes with two hanging basket rails.

The roof is so strong that it can easily handle this extra load, and it’s a really useful feature. Your hanging baskets will thrive and it will also free up lots of space on your staging.

Rainwater Collection

Every Rhino greenhouse also comes with large integral gutters as well as downpipes and bends so you can collect and use the natural rainwater that your plants love.

25 Year Guarantee – they're that good

Nothing says more about the quality of a Rhino greenhouse than our 25 Year Guarantee.

A generation of gardeners can rest assured that the frame and even the powder coated color finish are covered, in the unlikely event that the greenhouse fails.

Base Preparation

Our Rhino greenhouses offer great flexibility when it comes to base options. Unlike most other greenhouse brands, our Rhinos can be erected on soil. This is only due to the strength created by its sturdy base and framework. As long as it is level and fully compacted, in most situations soil is the perfect solution.

Alternatively, hardstanding bases are also suitable. As long as they're smooth and level, paving slabs, concrete bases and brick or block perimeter plinths can also be used.
