Reviews

We design and manufacture the Rhino right here in our own UK factory. Our greenhouses are strong, safe and most importantly look beautiful.

We care about quality which is why all of our Rhinos are manufactured using high quality aluminum and feature 4mm toughened safety glass. Discover more about what makes our Rhino greenhouses so unique:

Louvre Vents & Automatic Roof Ventilation

Included as standard with the Rhino Premium 6x8 greenhouse:

  • 2 Double Roof Vents
  • 2 Side Louvre Vents
  • 4 Automatic Roof Vent Openers
  • Storm Locks

Keeping your greenhouse between certain temperatures is an essential step for successful growing. Which is why our Rhino Premium greenhouses are fitted with as much roof ventilation as possible. By using a combination of single, double and triple roof vents across our range we make sure the maximum area is covered. Each roof vent is also controlled by solar-powered automatic vent openers, eliminating the need for you to manually open and close each roof vent.

On the 6x8, vents are also fitted with storm locks. These locks allow each vent to be secured in the down position, in bad weather this allows the entire structure to be made airtight - helping to prevent damage as well as control temperature.

Note that it is important to disengage the vents before putting the storm locks into position, to avoid causing any damage to the openers.

Our high quality Rhino five-blade louvre vents help you take full control of your ventilation. These vents allow cool air to enter from the side, circulate up through the greenhouse before exiting through the roof vents. Over the years we've found that optimal circulation can only be achieved through a combination of roof vents and side louvres.

Adequate ventilation is absolutely crucial to successful growing under glass. There is not another greenhouse on the market that has more ventilation than a Rhino. Better still, it's all included in the price.

We've produced a handy guide explaining why ventilation is so important and how to optimize your greenhouse temperature.

4mm Toughened Glass - strong and safe

With safety at the forefront of every Rhino, we've developed our combination glazing system. Perfect for exposed locations and families with young children and pets.

Part 1 of our glazing system is the use of Rhino Tuff 4mm toughened safety glass. This glass is 33% thicker than most greenhouse glass and is supplied as standard with every Rhino. If a pane is broken, the glass will shatter into thousands of tiny pieces rather than big shards which are far more likely to cause injury. Safety at every step is important to us, which is why even the edges of the glass are rounded so you don't cut yourself during installation. And with Grade A glass, you can achieve ultimate clarity for maximum light.

Part 2 of our unique Rhino glazing system locks each pane of glass in place along its entire length, using long rubber beads. The glass cannot be blown or sucked out of the frame and pushing on the glass only locks the beads more tightly into the frame, making it ideally engineered for high winds and other extreme weather conditions. With Rhino's glazing method, each pane becomes integral to the strength of the whole frame. The Premium range also features box-section glazing bead for even greater stability.

When compared with the glazing that comes as standard on most greenhouses, the Rhino range come up trumps every time. No dangerous horticultural glass or flimsy W-clips here; and with the smooth finish achieved by our glazing beads, there's no need for bar capping either.

Strong Frame - great wind resistance

Every single Rhino is engineered for strength and stability. Whether you're in the Outer Hebrides or the Channel Islands, our Rhinos make secure growing locations, no matter the weather. Many of our customers choose us because of this strength and stability, we often hear that our Rhinos have withstood storms and very strong gales (up to 137mph so far).

Each Rhino frame has around 60% more aluminum than similarly priced models. But it’s not just the weight, it’s the clever design of the Rhino that provides its inherent strength. There are 3 key factors that contribute the strength of the Rhino range:

  1. Strong T-section bracing
  2. An integral base
  3. The Rhino Tuff glazing system

The Rhino Premium features even stronger T-section bracing; positioned at every strut of the framework of the eaves and ridge of the the greenhouse, you can be confident in the security of the structure. The integral base and Rhino Tuff glazing system also add to the overall strength, creating a solid and airtight framework from the top of the roof to the ground.

We’ve tested the snow loading capacity of a Rhino by putting half a tonne of sand bags on the roof, so it's ready for whatever the weather may throw at it.

Integral Base – stronger and great access

Every Rhino greenhouse includes a strong aluminum base in the price, which not only provides an incredibly strong foundation but also allows The Rhino to be erected simply onto firm, level soil – so there’s no need for an expensive concrete base.

Once The Rhino is erected, strong stainless steel ground anchors are concreted into position.

The Rhino can also be erected on a hard standing of concrete or paving slabs, in which case the stainless steel anchors are fixed using the fixings provided.

All Rhino greenhouses now include a low threshold door and ramp within the price. There’s no longer a trip hazard at the doorway and on 8, 10 and 12ft wide models there is plenty of width for a wheelchair or wheelbarrow to enter with ease.

Hanging Basket Rails

Every Rhino greenhouse comes with two hanging basket rails.

The roof is so strong that it can easily handle this extra load, and it’s a really useful feature. Your hanging baskets will thrive and it will also free up lots of space on your staging.

Rainwater Collection

Every Rhino greenhouse also comes with large integral gutters as well as downpipes and bends so you can collect and use the natural rainwater that your plants love.

25 Year Guarantee – they're that good

Nothing says more about the quality of a Rhino greenhouse than our 25 Year Guarantee.

A generation of gardeners can rest assured that the frame and even the powder coated color finish are covered, in the unlikely event that the greenhouse fails.

Base Preparation

Our Rhino greenhouses offer great flexibility when it comes to base options. Unlike most other greenhouse brands, our Rhinos can be erected on soil. This is only due to the strength created by its sturdy base and framework. As long as it is level and fully compacted, in most situations soil is the perfect solution.

Alternatively, hard standing bases are also suitable. As long as they're smooth and level, paving slabs, concrete bases and brick or block perimeter plinths can also be used.
